Walking Off ...
In tribute to Big Papi's Walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth last night (& yes, Missy and I stayed up and yes, we danced around like crazy fools while Missy was on the phone with Bonnie who said, before it happened that Papi was gonna hit a homer ...), Boston Dirt Dogs via the Boston Globe has a lovely photo retrospective here. Just a tiny, select few of my favorites:
26 July 2003 - Red Sox 5, Yankees 4 (Papi doubles off the Green Monster, bringing in Jeremy Giambi to beat the Yankees)
8 October 2004 - Red Sox 8, Angels 6 (Opposite field shot, over the Monster, in the bottom of the tenth that sends us to the 2004 ALCS)

17 October 2004 - Red Sox 6, Yankees 4 (12th-inning, two-run homer off of Paul Quantrill in Game 4 of the ALCS - We were down 3 games to nought and this homer was the start of something huge)
18 October 2004 - Red Sox 5, Yankees 4 (Next night, Papi drops a single into center field in the bottom of the 14th inning, sending Damon home and the ALCS back to the Bronx - the rest is history)

Last night, 13 September 2007 - Sox 5, Devil Rays 4 (one-out, two-run homer off of D-Ray's closer Al Reyes keeps our division lead at 5 games and moves the magic number to 12)
